Claude Janelle

Claude Janelle earned a bachelor's in literature and journalism from Laval University in 1974. A specialist in Quebec literature, he published in 1983 Les Éditions du Jour: une génération d'écrivains, Hurtubise HMH. A critic for the last twenty years of science fiction and fantasy in Solaris, L'Année de la science-fiction et du fantastique québécois, Nuit blanche, and Lettres québécoises, he has won three times the Boréal Award for best critical work. A founding member of the Corporation du Grand Prix de la science-fiction et du fantastique québécois, he has been its secretary-treasurer since 1984. In spite of all these activities, he still finds time to be a full-time employee of Ministry of Culture and Communications, where he is head of publishing and secretary for the Prix du Québec.
