Guy Gavriel Kay was born in Saskatchewan
in 1954. After having studied philosophy in Manitoba, he worked
on the posthumous publication of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillon.
After obtaining his law degree at the University of Toronto,
he worked as the screen writer for the series The Scales of
Justice, (1982-1989), produced by the English network of
the CBC, while at the same time publishing the fantasy trilogy
The Fionavar Tapestry. This was followed by Tigana,
A Song for Arbonne, The Lions of Al-Rassan, three
historical fantasy novels set in medieval Italy, France, and
Spain. This was followed by The Sarantine Mosaic and The
Last Light of the Sun. Translated in more than twenty languages, Guy Gavriel Kay has sold millions of books in Canada and the rest of the world, making him one of the most read authors of his generation. He has lived in Toronto for many years. |
