Norbert Spehner

Norbert Spehner was born in France in 1943. He settled in Quebec in 1968, where he worked as a teacher at the Cégep Édouard-Montpetit. He founded the science fiction and fantasy magazine Solaris, originally Requiem, which he directed for a decade. The author of many bibliographies on science fiction, fantasy, crime novels, serial killers, etc., he also publishes Marginalia, a newsletter on paraliterary studies. A former literary editor, a radio columnist and literary critic, he has collaborated with various magazines in France, Canada and the United States, as well as participating in many research groups studying literary genres. Since September 2002, he has written a regular column on crime novels in the daily La Presse, while remaining a pillar of the magazine Alibis.
