Eric Wright
"Eric Wright turns out detective books that
are to the crime novel what John le Carré's spy books
are to the espionage genre."
Quill & Quire |

Eric Wright, one of the most honoured
crime fiction writers in Canada, has won the Arthur Ellis Award
four times. In 1984, he won his first Arthur Ellis Award for
the first of his novels featuring Charlie Salter, The Night
the Gods Smiled. He repeated the feat two years later with
Death in the Old Country, and he also received the Award
twice in the short story category ("Looking for an Honest
Man," in the anthology Cold Blood: Murder in Canada,
and the second time for "Two in the Bush." In addition
to the always popular adventures of Charlie Salter, published
in translation by Alire, he also writes the adventures of a female
detective, Lucy Trimple Brenner, and of another Toronto police
officer, Mel Pickett. He has also published a volume of memoirs,
Always Give a Penny to a Blind Man. |
