Firestorm

The long bony fingers curled delicately around his neck, an old and terrifying experience, and almost immediately the child stopped struggling...

Illustration : Jacques Lamontagne

Firestorm, New York. A small town like so many others, peaceful, uneventful except for local gossip and legends... of no interest to the big national newspapers.
It is in this town that Connor Martin, a Syracuse teacher traumatized by his wife's suicide, has come to hide with his son McKenna. The change of scenery will perhaps allow them to begin a new life.

But since their arrival a killer has been assaulting the children of Firestorm, to the great despair of the sheriff, Richard Barnaby, who hasn't been able to catch him. He does have a few suspects, such the new teacher and the owner of the establishment that just opened, The Club, but he has absolutely no proof.

However, Barnaby can see that his town is changing. It's not as quiet as before : something insidious is taking shape, the nature or scope of which he cannot fathom, but which threatens the town with devastation... and he still doesn't know how to protect it !
