In an America controlled by the extreme right and religious fanaticism, and where any use of advanced technology is considered a perversion, Diane Fletcher is a Hunter, that is, a private eye who has the ability to see and sense the emotions of others. That is why the police seek her help in certain difficult cases. When Jonathan Mask, considered the best actor the United States has ever known, is found dead in his dressing room, electrocuted in the costume of a demon, Fletched is asked to bring her special talent to bear : accident, suicide or murder ? But even for the empath, the circumstances of Mask's death remain obscure. However, as her investigation progresses, she becomes convinced of one thing : the extremely murky relationships Mask had with his colleagues, but also with the highest echelons of religious and political power, must have led him into those shadowy zones where justice is often a substitute for vengeance, and vice versa ! |
