Three cultures cohabit in Al-Rassan, the land of honey and incense whose beauty has been sung by poets for centuries. But peace is precarious between Asharites, Jaddites and Kindaths, a spark would be enough to send everything up in flames. That's what happens when the khalif is murdered. All the petty kings of the city states of Al-Rassan immediately want to reunite the country under their sole authority, while in the north the monarchs of old Esperana feverishly prepare the reconquest.
