His name is Thomas Roy. He is the most highly regarded
writer in the province of Quebec, a regular guest in talk shows ;
the publication of one of his horror novels is always a major
media event. But he has been found catatonic and horribly mutilated
in his home.
While the police investigate, Roy is put under observation
in a Montreal hospital. Paul Lacasse, the psychiatrist who is
treating the writer, at first believes his case to be relatively
ordinary. But he discovers disturbing facts that force him, slowly,
to reconsider, and soon all his personal and professional certainties
being to falter. For beyond Roy's tragic story, something terrifying
is gradually revealed, something unimaginable, with monstrous
consequences.
Sur le seuil (On the Threshold), a frightfully
powerful suspense novel by the author many already consider the
master of the Quebec horror story.
